Longer lasting Racing and Cruising Sails

North Sails has become the world leader in sailmaking through an ongoing commitment to making sails faster, lighter and longer lasting. All of our sails, from the basic cruising products to the high-performance racing sails, are built to our high quality standards. From reinforced batten pockets, to large corner and reefing patches, every detail in our sails is designed to last.

Thermomolded 3DLIn late spring of 1992, North Sails introduced a revolutionary new sailmaking technology called 3DL™. Instead of assembling a sail out of pieces of flat sailcloth, the 3DL manufacturing process molds sails three-dimensionally in a single, seamless piece. Compared to a paneled sail, a 3DL sail stretches less for its weight, holds its shape over a wider wind range and retains its designed shape longer. Since its introduction, 3DL has dominated international Grand Prix sailboat racing. It was used exclusively on both America's Cup finalists in 2000 and on every Whitbread race finisher. Recently, 3DL has been improved to be even lighter, tougher and more durable and is now available in several new versions that make it the sail of choice for even more sailors, racers and cruisers alike.

Great Value

aBecause of our high quality standards and professional service, you can be assured of receiving the best value for your dollar -- whether we are re-cutting your old sail to give it new life, or out-fitting your boat with a brand new set.

All Your Sailing Needs

Not only can we provide you with excellent sails and superior sail service, we are also a one-stop shop for your other sailing needs as well. We offer annual North U classes, and we make our space available for local sailing clubs and fleets to meet. If you are looking for new canvas for your boat, our sister company North Winds Canvas can make that new boom cover, one-design boat cover, or custom canvas project that you've been wanting.

Need line or rigging? Check here -- if we can't do it ourselves, we will recommend a professional local rigger.
