Our Premium NorDac mainsails feature batten pockets, corner and reef reinforcements and slide installation methods which are engineered to stand up to the most rugged sailing environments. Battens are tapered to provide smooth sail shaping and to minimize stress concentration areas. All battens used in Premium Nordac mainsails are made with virtually indestructible epoxy and glass laminates. Batten and slide hardware are selected to exceed the predicted working loads. |
North 4800 series headsails are equipped with pre-stretched polyester leech and foot cords tied into multipart purchase systems that allow you to easily fine tune the sails edges. Sails ordered with the optional rope luff reefing system are built with special head and tack reinforcing that extends further into the body of the sail, allowing you to reef away up to 35% of the sail area without permanently distorting the fabric. |
