- March 13, North U Tactics Class taught by Andrew Kerr
This class had a fantastic turnout of over 50 people, including about 20 Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College sailing team members. Topics covered included starts, upwind strategy and tactics, downwind strategy and tactics, and rules. As always, Andrew did a fantastic job of teaching and answering everyone's questions.

Hosted by the Columbia Gorge Racing Association, the Laser clinic was run by our very own Kerry Poe. Topics covered included:
- Downwind - How to stay on a wave and how to get over the back of the next wave. When should you sail extra distance or go rumbline? How much vang?
- Upwind - How to depower the rig. steering technique. When should you ease the sheet compared to pinch?
- Learn how to line up with other boats for boat speed testing and experimenting.

This was a fun evening of short races on the Columbia. The goal was to get through as many starts as possible, and though the wind was light and the sun set early, we pulled off three quick races.

Held at Mars Meadows, Kerry Poe talked about setting courses and dealing with the weather.
- May 28, "Meet the President" BBQ at the loft
US Sailing President, Janet Baxter, was in town visiting for a couple of days, and she graciously joined us and about 50 local sailors for parking lot BBQ at the North Sails loft.
